How Saksham Powergen India collects, uses, protects and shares your personal information — and the rights you have over it.
01Who we are
Saksham Powergen India ("Saksham", "we", "us") is a Mumbai-based Solar EPC company. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy — the information you give us when you request a solar quote, a site survey, a subsidy application or an energy audit, and the information we gather while serving you.
This policy applies to our website sakshamsolar.in and to the quotes, proposals, agreements and service records we generate for you. By using this website or asking us for a proposal, you accept the practices described here.
02What we collect
Information you give us: your name, company or society name, mobile number, email address, postal or site address, electricity supplier (DISCOM) and consumer number, monthly electricity bill and tariff details, roof or land area, photographs or drawings of your site, and the solar option you are interested in (CAPEX, OPEX, Group Captive, Open Access or Digital Solar).
Information from your documents: bills, sanction letters, bank and KYC details, registration or society records, and ownership or consent letters — collected only where they are needed to design a system, apply for net metering, or claim a subsidy on your behalf.
Information we create for you: system sizing, generation estimates, quotations, proposals, agreements, installation records, warranty registers and O&M reports.
Information from your device: basic technical data such as browser type, device type and pages visited, used only to keep the website working and to understand which pages are useful. Our solar calculator runs entirely in your browser — the numbers you type are not sent to us unless you choose to share a quote.
03How we use it
To size your solar plant, estimate savings and prepare an accurate quotation or feasibility report.
To contact you about the enquiry you raised, and — only with your consent — to send you relevant updates, offers and renewable-energy news.
To complete your project: design, procurement, installation, net or gross metering, DISCOM approvals, subsidy applications, financing documentation and warranty registration.
To deliver ongoing service: monitoring, maintenance visits, generation reports, invoice and payment follow-ups, and support for complaints.
To meet legal and accounting obligations, and to keep records required under Indian tax, company and electricity regulations.
To improve our website and services — we look at general usage patterns, not at your individual identity.
06How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become projects are kept for a limited period so we can follow up, then removed from our active records.
Project records, agreements, warranties and generation data are kept for the life of the plant and for as long as Indian tax, company and electricity rules require — commonly eight years or more for financial documents, and for the warranty term for equipment records.
When information is no longer needed and no law requires us to keep it, we delete or permanently anonymise it.
07How we protect it
Your information is stored in access-controlled systems and shared over encrypted connections. Access inside Saksham is limited to the team members who need it for your project, and we review who has that access.
Documents containing sensitive details are not sent to unrelated parties, and our teams are instructed never to use customer data for anything other than the purpose it was collected for.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever puts your information at risk, we will tell you and the relevant authorities what happened, what was affected and what you can do, as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 requires.
08Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us to: confirm what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it; correct or complete anything inaccurate; erase data we no longer need to keep; withdraw consent you previously gave for marketing or any optional processing; nominate another person to exercise these rights; and have any grievance addressed.
Write to sales@sakshamsolar.in from the email address you gave us, or call +91 8828831965, and tell us which right you want to exercise. We will verify your identity, respond within the time the law sets, and will not charge you for a reasonable request.
Withdrawing consent or asking for erasure will not stop us from keeping records we are legally obliged to maintain, or from completing a project you have already engaged us for.
09Children
Our services are meant for adults, homes, societies and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has shared information with us, write to us and we will remove it.
10Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date, and for material changes we will notify affected customers where we hold their contact details.
